Afternoon Striper

Striped Bass

Striped Bass can be caught from May to December. Methods during day fishing range from jigging and trolling with wire line and using many different artificial lures. Bass can also be caught vertical jigging while drifting. We also target Striped Bass after dark, twilight trips are available along with night fishing that consists of drifting live eels. The night trips are best earlier in the season before the bluefish and dogfish show up.
Bluefin Tuna

Tuna

Tuna fishing usually begins every year with a good shot of fish in mid July. Some years they stick around all year but it tends to pick back up again towards the end of August and as long as the weather cooperates the Tuna fishing remains good until early to mid October. During the summer months the Tuna are caught trolling and diamond jigging. But when September arrives chunking becomes the ideal method.
Mako Shark

Sharks!

For those of you who want to catch something bigger than yourself, shark fishing is for you. Shark fishing begins in mid June and runs until the first week of October. Sharks that you may catch include, Blue Shark, Mako, Thresher and the the rare Hammerhead. Early in the season the sharks are plentiful but mainly blue sharks. In July and August the water temperature rises which tends to slow the action but it is much more likely to catch an edible Mako or Thresher. These days begin by stopping around Block Island to catch a bluefish (which is used live) then the run is made offshore 20-40 miles where we set up and create a chum slick to bring the sharks in.
Thats a Fluke!

Fluke

Fluke fishing can be a great way to finish up your striper trip. Fluke can be caught all summer long. If you would like to do some fluke fishing it can be combined with a striper trip or you can go strictly fluke fishing. We also do afternoon trips for fluke which are known to be very successful. Fluke are caught on squid strips which are fished along the bottom.
Codfish

Codfish

Codfish are mainly targeted in the early spring but they are around all year. Codfish are caught in deep water on the bottom using clams. The past few years the codfishing has been good early before it slows down in the summer, but we do sail a few trips in the summer which have been productive in the past.
December blackfish

Blackfish

The Blackfish season begins after the 15th of October and lasts into December. Early in the season we can combine striped bass and blackfish in the same trip. Blackfish are caught on the bottom with crabs in rocky areas. Spending the day blackfishing in the fall can be a great way to wrap up your fishing season and catch a delicious meal.
